My Frances 26 is Aurora. I purchased her one year ago and have spent that time fixing her up. Currently she is on Lake Lanier in Georgia. High hopes of getting her back to the coast.

Does a Frances 26 have a ORR or IRC rating, I am thinking of having some fun? I am new to the racing side of this, any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello Endless: I have a 1977 Frances 26 with a 25 lb CQR, 25 ft of chain + 200 ft of rode. I think a 35 CQR would be too much wt up in the bow. I would trade the wt of a 35 CQR for a 25 CQR and that lets you carry more chain. Currently I am adding an aft chain locker. I had a larger boat back some y...

My Frances in now in the water (Lake Lanier), still work to do but more enjoyable in the water.

Hello:
Aurora is now in the Georgia going through some upgrades and a good cleaning.
The rudder gudgeons and pintles have been replaced. At some point will update photos.
